The lad is brain dead, his body is only kept alive by machines. Once they disconnect those machines the body dies. In which case why does moving to a hospice help? I sat in a room with my mother and waited for her husband to die, he was unconcious but not brain dead, the doctors said he had very little time left. He lasted 2 hours and we could physically see his breathing slowing down. He was unaware. Myself and my sister sat in a room and waited for our gran to die, she took 5 days in the end and I had to leave, my sister made of sterner stuff stayed all day and all night in those last 24 hours. The point being that somebody at the end of their life, right at the end, minutes away isnt better off being moved. The important part is that loved ones are there at the end, wherever "there" is. After all, if they moved him to a hospice and a miracle happened, they turned the machnies off and he started breathing by himself, will the hospice be equipped to give him the help he'd need?

It was a long time ago now, my gran was 30 years back, I only said it to make the point that what matters most is the person is in the bes place for medical care and their loved ones are there too.

Time makes it better but doesn’t heal.

https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-co Warning before you read this, it’s not nice. Essentially it explains the overwhelming evidence that Archie is conclusively dead. He is brain stem dead, He has no blood flow through his brain stem - His brain stem is necrotic - His brain stem has been pushed out of the skull into the spine There is no prospect of recovery. Parents lawyers accused the nhs of being callous, unchristian, paternalistic and authoritarian. This was taken from the wonderful Rachel Clarke on Twitter and shows the need for expert, independent legal advice. The law centre behind this as the worst of our profession. With proper legal advice they’d have hopefully understood a long time ago what was in his best interests. It’s prolonged their agony. Really hope they can now grieve in peace. How do you get over this ?

Literally impossible. But they will be helped by the publicity and people willing to help them in a variety of ways. Could be quite consuming.
