Surprised to see that Kenji has been holding down a regular place as a winger for Boavista in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. He was a starter at the weekend when they won away to go 4th in the league (early doors I know). Although Kenji had obvious potential when he was with us I always thought he was one of those players who wouldn't quite make it. He always was a very good player who has matured like Hedges. He scored a lot of goals for the u21 team with both feet. He was what Garrick or Cullen are today. Swansea actually offered him a new deal but he wanted first team action. [Post edited 8 Aug 2022 18:46]

There’s a pretty long list. Especially when the swans were in the premier league, trying to oust the likes of gylfi and Michu wouldn’t have been easy. |  |

They weren't trying to oust our best players to get a little gametime.
I know a few were promised minutes under Clement "when we were safe" but it never happened. Kenji got less than 10 minutes in a final day dead rubber that Emnes, Dyer and Jazz Richards started for Monk. | | | |

My point is when you are in competition for a first team place and on front of you are World Cup internationals etc, it isn’t easy.

How about when players are not the WCI's and performing poorly but you still can't get a game, like Whittaker, Joseph, the Coopers and Congreve? Ooh, Garrick too.
Yet Cullen is on the bench.
