I don't think its a matter of one out all out, I think its decided by each local hospital board. They've calculated they've had a 20% pay cut in real terms over the last 10 years.

Very controversial, however I tend to agree somewhat. I was literally pulling my hair out when a very close relative was being treated for terminal cancer. No sign of any nurses ever until I worked out they had a secret little tea room where there were always half a dozen tucked away. Once he got onto palliative care, things changed dramatically and those people are saints. Our health care system needs a shakeup from top to bottom with fair pay and conditions, far less chiefs would be a start. Its a very tough environment that I freely admit to probably being unable to work in, and the people who do this as living deserve adequate reward.

The difference with palliative care is, they have more staff and less patients, and they are well resourced in comparison to other depts

This thread ties in very nicely with the "Bonkers Bureacracy" one.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |
