Stumbled onto a winning team which could go on to win a game after going behind and one which could go out and start on the front foot after injury to regular choice player. Lost a main stay of this season through injury but cannot get back to winning ways after mainstay's returns because back to picking the original injured player again.
4/10 cannot see who can be the most effective of his players in his system and the ones who have the ability to improvise as required he will not pick.

He knows what he wants but doesn’t have the skills / experience to achieve it. Wastes talent; e.g. Oko-Flex is our only exciting and effective player and Ogbeta has looked more than capable. Has failed to develop a team. Constantly rearranging the back three has prevented any real partnerships developing where they are essential. Same for midfield. Has some kind of strange relationship with players. Paterson got his way and has sat back, Obafemi got some of his way and hasn’t been fully trusted, Piroe has lost his spark. Takes too long to recognise quality. Benda, Cabango, Oko-Flex, Cooper all messed about. Fails to inspire players to concentrate for a whole game. Some calls for direct football … we aren’t physically string enough but, unfortunately, he hasn’t coached us to be quick enough either. League positions this year are crazy so a run of four wins against very poor teams hides the fsct we had draws against even poorer teams. I don’t see us progressing and players who could entertain are sidelined.

Pretty much as I see things. What really is puzzling though is the “ support” for his system that shows no sign of success ,if indeed that is what we want. The likes of Hudds should be blown away. Cardiff should have been euthanised so dire were they. They weren’t .

I support the style he is trying to achieve but he just isn’t achieving it for, at best, half a game.

He achieved it against Huddersfield, he said he thought it was a brilliant performance.
It was horrific to watch.
This myth that he is trying to turn us into Man City is just that, a myth. We have seen plenty of times the exact result of what “he’s trying to do”, and it really is awful.

Man City do not play as we do and neither do we they . Poles apart.

Where has this myth perpetuated from? Is it just people on here trying to defend the style, or has Martin or someone within the club said it?
I agree, it’s nowhere near accurate.

I have heard it many times now, that he’s trying to get us playing like Man City and the top teams. I have explained many times why we play nothing like them.
“Like what he’s trying to do”, “I can see what he’s trying to do” etc etc etc is trotted out most weeks on here.
They say it as if we haven’t seen what he’s trying to do yet. He’s approaching one of our longest serving managers in recent history, he’s openly stated that performances were brilliant when they were horrendous to watch.
We can all see what he’s trying to do, unfortunately succeeding in doing it is still awful.
Succeeding in doing something awful doesn’t make the awful thing a success.

Fair enough if it’s just people spouting off on here.
I don’t agree at all though. Man City penetrate packed defences.

He has no real system it’s just playing dangerous possession football deep in our own half to beat a press. Which when we do occasionally we then lose any advantage by slowing up in midfield or even worse passing it back. I think he’s holding the players hostage to this and they don’t seem like their hearts are in it nor are they enjoying themselves. A good manager wouldn’t buy square pegs for round holes and then complain that they don’t fit. Lunatic.
Edit - this isn’t half term. Half term was last Christmas. This is going on 18 months in and we are still atrociously inconsistent.

Isn’t this the season he said we would be better ? Nearly half way through it. Half term report.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Are we better though?
I imagine if he played direct for a lengthy period last season we would have gained enough points to have climbed to a similar position. So while it’s great he was sensible for around 8 games this season, he’s back to square one now he has decided to go back to his old style that everyone knows doesn’t work.
I can’t think of too many players who have progressed from last season. Benda now he’s been given a run perhaps, but he was fantastic when out on loan. Where as Piroe, Cabango, Obafemi and Naughton all seem to have alarmingly declined, there may be more.

I think we will see either an upsurge in Marin’s belief come January, and that’s including players coming in, or if the results don’t continue in the way everyone wants he may well move on.

Man City have spent a billion pounds. We haven’t even spent a billion pence. No comparison.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I agree and it’s a non comparison as I think he’s trying to turn ilia into what we were first year under Brendan . It’s not working because he doesn’t seem able to coach the midfield into shifting the ball forward quickly .
My point is that he’s spent money which he needed bringing in players who don’t have the skills to play that way or he doesn’t have the ability to coach players in the true sense unlike Brendan and Laudrup could to play this way by improving them to fit.
He also like has been said before tinkers with the defense too much so no real understandings are developed between players.
The players sometimes look lost out there and after some promising results have slipped back into safety first keep ball with little end product.

Let's be honest, RM is clueless. Many go on about the process and the style, i ask " what exactly is that?"
