Been one of his biggest critics over the last few months but a great end to the season.

Hopefully learned from his mistakes & we push on for the play offs next season 👍

Like this post, we played them hospital passes again yesterday, everyone around me was screaming for us to get rid, why........ We all know we play that kind of football, if people want us to lump it then they are going to be disappointed, what happens is when we have cool heads on the pitch playing out from the back, the crowd get panicky and are calling our team all the winkers going, hardly a confidence booster.

It’s my mindset.
I see this unnecessary playing around in dangerous positions.
That some can defend this amazes me

It doesn't detract from my point though.

No,but it gives it some perspective .
We should not all view matters the same .
That happens and we are dead in the water

The goals conceded yesterday were from the same mistakes we have made all season and could have been more, the goals we scored were from our need to chase the game for a win which to be fair we did until the final whistle.
By chasing the game we started to get the ball in the danger areas quicker, so we stretched the game while biding our time defensively to ensure we didn't concede.
We needed the pace lacking all season up front which is why Naughton for brought on, allowing Latibeaudie to switch sides to let Mannings pace help on the counter attack getting us further up the pitch quicker resulting in forcing errors in their defensive setup.
So Martin's changes, while questioned at the time, did work out same as the Preston game.
Hopefully Martin run of form on getting descions right continues if he is still with us next year conversely hope he also can see the mistakes that have costed us this season.

"The goals conceded yesterday were from the same mistakes we have made all season"

However if fans think that the goal conceded yesterday 30secs after the full press got us into danger we luckily escaped was down to the coach and not the Captain or defenders is wrong. I cant be completely sure obviously but surely you go long wide or hit Piroe and push out.

RM mentioned pace in his interview, not sure we should pay big bucks to keep Manning though but i suppose it depends who we have identified as targets.

Agree with post your completely.

Let's put this into perspective. It's been a very ordinary league. Very tight in the middle. We may be 10th and just 3 points outside the play offs, but we were 25 points behind automatic promotion. We have had a good run to end the season, but mediocrity and boredom has defined this season for me

At times yes.
But most teams bar maybe Burnley will have supporters saying this.

On next season, it’s going to be far more competitive with the promoted and relegated sides. So on turn the Swans need to be far more competitive in the transfer market.

Someone posted about his record so far in management. None to impressive at MK Dons, and actually took them to lower positions in the league than his predecessor. He has done exactly the same here. We may achieve mediocrity once again, but we will not improve under RM

He has improved on last season, so not sure about that bit.

As we all know he won’t get the time he had this season next time around.

I think people need to look at development, and he has developed. The nonsense around the area is simply awful management. Give him a few spondulits in the summer I genuinely believe we can make a huge impression.

I was being positive in my OP but deep down this how I feel.

Next season I believe it will be a tougher division.

An opportunity lost.

The three who come down no matter who they are will be far weaker than you think, none of them will keep their best players so therefore will be there for the taking.

The question of the why isn't the long ball tactic to the likes of Piroe not used very much maybe it is because Piroe isn't particularly strong in the air against big defenders giving him no space.
We all know Piroe has some class skills but surely as a young footballer he should be striving to enhance the weaker aspects of his game as part of his development to play at a higher level and not rely solely on the undoubted qualities he has.
This is not a case of picking on Piroe but just using him as an example of the need to improve some aspects of a players game which to be fair to him he has done in some areas of his game this season.

Similarly to a lot of our youngsters, Cooper's development has got him into the team but is a lack of calmness in front of goal has seen him squander some good goal scoring chances although he has been on hand to score one or two when not having time to think about things and act instinctively. Hopefully, like Cundle who has coming back into the team with Joe Allen's and Walsh's loss and taken his goal with a calm assuredness, which earlier in his time with us he did not show, Cooper can press on but to be fair to him he has been used at times to cover Manning's forward runs and for me was a must in a defensive role as the last man on the halfway line to nullify counterattacks on our attacking corners rather than use the slower Grimes which we reverted to against WBA after we had previously moved away from using Grimes in that position (maybe Grimes had moved away because he was taking corners which he has also been moved away from same as under previous managers, eventually).

Hopefully the youngsters can keep on improving and start to gather together to create the momentum needed to push on to promotion, as stated in other posts, momentum which was essential in ensuring our promotions in the passed with other managers.. Nice to hear Kenny Jackets name mentioned in previous posts because he was part of that gathering momentum which lead to the rise to the Premiership.
Youth learning together and spurring each other on can be a great asset in creating that momentum especially if they are learning from players with quality in their team.

Yep well done to Martin, just ignore the 18 defeats with a decent championship squad.

There's no guarantee of that though. Lets say it's the current bottom three, all will have parachute payments and may keep all their players and even add to them to try and go straight back up.

Other clubs have done that, for some it worked but for others it turned into a disaster. Leicester could be the strongest of them but they could all afford to come shopping at our club while we couldn't afford any of their first eleven.

We shouldn't take anything for granted, after all we don't know how our squad will look come August. Even if the owners splash out a bit it could be hard to entice some players here if the relegated clubs also come sniffing and offer more money.

Nothing is a given for next season. Call it glass empty if you like but it's the reality of it.

I agree, although Everton ( I am told ) will have to pay back many of their sponsors if they come down as a clause in their agreements.

Everton could have major money worries. If they come down and have to pay that money back, combined with the major losses and loss of income they could be in bog trouble.

Where do they stand with their new stadium, if they come down can they still finance it?

I think whoever comes down will lose players as some players won't want to play championship football.
