Lloyd, Cotterill, Congreve, Margetson, Dan Watts, Evan Watts Josh Thomas and others. Smith and Azeem (inj) for Scotland who I rate highly.

I would argue the three English men are currently performing exceptionally well for the first team. The young Welsh players you mentioned although very talented there is no guarantee they will make the first team, although I'm hopeful. There is nothing wrong discussing the here and now. To ignore because they are English is a bit silly because we would be in a right pickle without them.

Lloyd, Cotteril and the rest you mention are nowhere near the standard of loan players we have. If we put them in the first team we would lose games. We are focusing on those players though. They play for the age grade side.

Not because they are English but because they are other teams players. Their form with England is an irrelevance unless they stick around for another season. If Wood was involved that would be different. They each have a maximum of 7 months at the club. Azeem and Smith for Scotland get no coverage. Both are real good prospects. The Welsh guys are of far more interest to me as some are with the club until 2025 or 2026 have have real monetary and performance value. I raise the point because this forum and even WoL show no interest in them. Lloyd is actually talent. He was pomoted with Crew into the u21 but got a knock. Jasper questioned his athleticism and I would not question him too much but that surprised me. I did see a clip of him in one game do a lung bursting 80m run followed but shot which deserved a goal. His goal v England u19 would have raised eyebrows. That sort of composure is rare. Josh Thomas did not have it for the u21.

Wales have gone into the traditional zombie mode in the third game 0-3 v Montenegro. Margetson handed them a goal on a plate minute 2. Since then they have been running through treacle. Isaaka has not had kick on this trip. [Post edited 17 Oct 2023 18:03]

Third game in 7 days. Andiyapan and Lloyd especially looked heavy legged from kickoff. Same passes going astray from previous game but no energy to recover situations. I've never seen Margetson have a good game. He's tall and he's loud but everything else is questionable.

Lloyd contested a 50:50 lost it through a lack of aggression fouls the guy. Complains at free kick. Kicks the ball away then gets subbed. 0-3 losing away in eastern Europe. There is no where to hide. Plenty of possession second half somenice individual play but lack of team structure. Koumas battled hard but no presence in the box. Passing under pressure missing. Isaaka not given a minute. Where is Sam Parker George Abbott? [Post edited 17 Oct 2023 19:04]

Rhys Thomas of Man City was the other right back in the squad. Small group went out for the games. Lack of rotation is a bit strange, you can't expect youngsters to play 3 tough games within 7 days and give their best. These final game capitulations do seem to happen a lot when our age groups play tournament-style football.

Yes an inexplicable 0-6 to Austria after Wales had beat Croatia 4-2 and lost 1-0 to England comes mind for the last u19 group. There is also a defeat to Faroe Islands in the last game somewhere in the archives. Its the hope that kills you. I understand for a small nation finding good players for u17, u18, u19 and u21 can be a bit of a struggle.
