| Bonfire Night on 12:48 - Nov 7 by onehunglow | You are truly clueless in a way you could never understand . Dogs are safe in their win homes. Fireworks explode ,set off by dyckheads , and the noise is heard inside homes . Meanwhile today, hospitals are treating those affected by this weeks “ fun” This government like others is gutless . This is sometimes what happens when we have freedom in a democratic country. We don't tend to have the minority dictating to the majority, which is what you want. What next, ban boxing, rugby. why not bring in a 20mph speed limit to prevent deaths - that hasn't gone down well though has it? | | | |

| Bonfire Night on 10:10 - Nov 7 by controversial_jack | The minority wants to dictate to the majority again. Maybe the owners should keep their dogs safe. next doors dogs were fine, wasn't a problem for responsible owners |
What on earth are you on about ? I had four dogs in my house over the weekend Three were fine One, my eldest, was petrified and run upstairs. All were inside each evening Idiots letting off fireworks at 12.30 p.m. one day when I was walking them on the leads and harnesses. Had I not been a responsible owner, he may have bolted and I may never have seen him again. As for minority, have a word with Jill Trick. She is the local coordinator for lost and found dogs in the Swansea area. She has been busy none stop over last weekend reuniting petrified dogs with their owners. Facebook had many posters from all over the country discussing petrified dogs ( and other animals ) thanks to fireworks. Give your head a wobble mate and stop trying to be controversial just for it's own sake eh ?

He had not medicated or sedated his Collie that evening , thought it was all over . Spoke to him earlier , he got home asap to look after the dog , it was quivering . It is his companion day to day .

With respect, i'm not an animal lover at all, I don't wish them any harm either, but the kids had a great time, just like we did when i was growing up.

The problem is not bonfire night, thread title or fireworks, the problem is anti social behaviour of those setting them off at ridiculous times of day and night. By all means ban them but have a legal window of 6-9pm on 4th 5th and 6th November to allow for weather conditions. Then fines at all other times.
| Bonfire Night on 16:31 - Nov 9 with 877 views | ModeratorD | Like some of the other posters I am also an animal lover. I grew up in the days of having bonfires and letting off small fireworks at home was the norm However times have changed and I feel organised displays are the way to go. This will help to satisfy both sides in this debate | | | |

Most kids would enjoy the party atmosphere with family amd friends at an organised display. Seems the way to go to me ?

I think this would depend on where you live and if one was available locally. Loads of local village rugby clubs organise one now but some areas are still remote.

It's not the same atmosphere at a display. It's always been a family thing. I would have had the fire pit going too if we hadn't had intermittent rain
