Interesting development. Given that the care sector is already struggling to cope and can’t recruit enough staff, I’m wondering how this is going to impact. We need an effective care system to enable people to leave hospital, live at home etc etc.I’m all in favour of reducing immigration numbers, but it has to be backed up by sound policies and not sound bites. I’d like to see the governments plant to ensure these key posts are filled.
We’ve got something like 9million economically inactive people in the uk which includes the unemployed, we need to get some of these back in to work - it will reduce immigration and the benefits bill. | | | |

My Mum in her last days on The Renal Ward at Morriston had a Filipino domestic .
They both hit it off big time , total mutual respect for each other .
That Cleaning lady had to clear faeces off floors and patients clothing after operations .
Never complained and wanting to more hours to work if availalbe .
There was not a queue of local jobless ready to do them duties .
