Luke Williams really isn’t sure about his squad. Free agent update and Bristol City 24th Sep 2024 08:00
It’s a very conservative head coach this Tuesday morning. Plus there’s the free agent situation, and what could be stopping a new player coming in. We also look forwards to the game against Bristol City this coming Sunday (3pm) at the Swansea.com stadium. 0

It’s spread over the last three years mate.

So, basically they will hit the buffers around 2027. ish.

I done a Google.

Apparently there are no limits on what a team can spend on players in League One, but salary costs can't exceed 60% of turnover. Hence their total transfer spending of £20-£25m on players like Stansfield, who will all undoubtedly have huge promotion bonuses in their contracts.

It also appears to be the case that the only real punishment for exceeding that limit is a transfer embargo, which probably won't bother a club with a squad costing that much already.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

So buy all your expensive players while in league one before you go up and no issues with FFP? January could be interesting.

I guess once you're in the Championship the clock starts running. Like Keith said, a huge loss in 2025 will be an issue in 2027 if you're still a Championship club. They'll probably hope to be out of there before that happens.

The EFL will find a way. The three year rule does exist, but that will become an issue in the championship. I’m certain they can’t write off all their expenditure in league one. That surely doesn’t make sense 🤷🏻‍♂️

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Bottom line is ,yiu love the club and want the best . Like me.
Whether or not,it’s feasible is not the point
When we were told they would take us to the next level,we expected that .
The owners have the purse strings
They have the money
They have put money on but utterly wasted it through incompetency .
The parachute payment used to cover losses .
Yeah baby
The club was not and has not been marketed properly and we have missed out on significant expansion including match day revenue ,which brings us back to players and coaches

It’s a whirlwind

Don’t be intimidated by anyone making out they are more financially adroit

Good morning Onehunglow , Dr Winston, and every one else,
whilst the 3 of us have differing opinions we ALL want whats best for Swansea city fc and to be honest is good to talk with no malice but genuine thoughts from all angles , , it gets so frustrating for some me included when the people who pull the purse strings just wont go that extra mile to bring in what is needed will never forgive them for pulling the plug on OReily when by all reports the deal was done down to the point of stage payment shedule and the player agreeing to come here, any way thats history
Come on lads another 3 points on Sunday and hopefully a big crowd
