An American caller to LBC today 17:44 - Feb 2 with 3350 views

The lady who rang LBC was an American of Indian descent. She said that she'd seen the way America was going and decided to migrate to the UK with her two young daughters (I didn't hear what year this was) because she was concerned for their welfare when they'd be older if they were brought up in America.

She talked about a visit to America and was driving around with the person she was visiting. She said the streets were deserted and asked her friend why. The friend said that ICE were in town and everyone was staying indoors

The friend talked about going on one of those 'NO KINGS' protests. A person that wanted to attend who was a government employee was advised not to go on the march because the government had 'spotters' out, the implication being that if he/she was seen to be on the march they'd be in trouble.

The friend also said that because the American birth rate had fallen there was a push to persuade people to have more children. But just for white Americans to have more children.

Bearing in mind that Nigel Farage has so much admiration for Donald Trump it would not be too much of a stretch of the imagination that if NF were to be elected to PM that he may well follow similar policies to DT.

And with that thought in mind I hope that anyone considering voting Reform, whether in the Senedd election or in the next GE, should take all that on board and ask themselves if that is the kind of country they would wish to live in.

How was the wait at Customs? Hope it was better than my last experience there. I should have given you a couple of places to eat before you went. Too late now but John’s Pizza is not to be missed!! Glad you had a good time.

Straight through in about 10-15 minutes both times. Very quick and easy process there, although you can see how it could become a nightmare very quickly.

We had loads of food recommendations but other than Liberty Bagels (which her son wanted to go to) we most just ate where we ended up. Carnegie Diner came up three or four times. That was decent.

We had a Famous Original Ray's pizza. We ordered two mediums between the four of us and they were the size of HGV steering wheels. Ended up finishing them off for breakfast.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

We made the same mistake too many times. Their starters there are expensive but they are enough for three. We ended up taking the un-ate pizza out and giving it to some homeless people. I think they were pleased but even those people in NY can be deceiving being part of organised begging gangs.

By yesterday morning I was walking around Central Park in a T-Shirt, even with snow on the ground. The difference in just a couple of days was remarkable. The mad thing is that New York is further south than the UK so should technically be warmer. Western Europe has a lot to thank the Gulf Stream for.

I wish I was in some nice warmer country this week ,been off all week smothering with a cold, started to feel better yesterday afternoon until my eyes and nose started streaming again yesterday tea time, had a shower in the afternoon, then had a bee in my bonnet cause I could find a few of my tools, so went searching in garage shed etc, seems like

You say I can't claim them as facts without factual evidence. I don't have any factual evidence as to the accuracy of what she says. How could I without having been in the car witnessing the same thing.

But we've seen what's happening on the streets and heard people say many times they are afraid to go out at times when ICE are around. So when a person quotes her actual experience what she says are the facts as she saw them. The rest of us have to balance what she says along with the evidence of other reports and our own eyes. We've seen video footage of the two murders on the streets in the US. No wonder many people are afraid to go out. So that would support her evidence.

You quoted in another post 'You do realise that federal agents have uncovered at least 3354 unaccompanied missing children in Minnesota'. That appears to be a direct quote from Tom Homan, Trump's Border Czar. You quote that seemingly as fact. You make no allowance for the fact that so many have queried the claim. One example is the claim that they are not unaccompanied but unaccounted for due to the immigration authorities not properly following up their situation.

So it's not fact.

I haven’t told anyone to be careful who they vote for based on the flimsy claims of an unknown American commentator.
Do you really think immigration enforcement agencies would be operating at the current level if there weren’t millions of illegal border crossings over recent years?
The administration’s border officials wouldn’t be making those claims publicly unless there was at least some factual basis underpinning them.
As for the number of people who say they’ve left the US because Trump became president, I haven’t seen reliable data confirming how many actually followed through versus how many simply made statements online.
