Leicester v Southampton 15:42 - Feb 11 with 2235 viewsstainrods_elbow

https://www.bbc.com/sport/foot

3-0 up at h/t, lost 3-4, with the winner in the 96th min.

Makes our Wrexham result look like bad luck!

Leicester fans/interim manager up in arms.

What price The Foxes disappearing down the relegation rabbit hole now post-Marti? (I mean it - what price? They're my 2nd team, but I'm lumping on.)

Genuine question.

Why does a QPR fan have Leicester as their second team?

I grew up there, and my grandfather played for Leicester Boys. He used to take me when they had class acts like Weller and Earle.

Not forgetting Frank Worthington.

Seems strange that Leicester isn't still your first team if you have such a strong connection to the place.

Then again I've lived in the Midlands. It was like going back in time.

Can't blame you for being lured to the Big Smoke by the bright lights and fleshpots of West London.

I felt from the moment Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha died tragically in the helicopter accident that it started to unravel for Leicester. He was an incredible owner and a one off character.

I heard a foxes fan on the radio recently saying that it's just the journey of so many smaller teams to reach great heights and fall. But they did win the Prem so they will always have that.

I wanted to know this too.... surely if anyone needs a 2nd team it'll be a non-league side of even a foreign side?

Just to balance it out I've lived in Leicester since 2013 (well, actually out in the county now, left the city just before Christmas) and I hate them.

I briefly wished them well when Marti was in charge as long as they lost to us, because I liked Marti, but now they've binned him off they can go back to being the club I dislike more than any other.

I was probably the unhappiest person in the city at their 2016 triumph! Although I will concede that those golden years were great for the city itself, I liked living there.

I’d forgotten that Wigan Athletic won the FA Cup as recently as 2013. There’s always further to fall (though there was always less to Wigan than Leicester as a football city).

It is the way of things that smaller clubs rise and then crash and in today's money dominated game they can't keep up with the big clubs.

We started the 70's in division 2, nearly won the first division and ended the decade back in the second division.

What annoys me is seeing other small clubs winning the FA Cup like Wimbledon, Wigan, Portsmouth and Leicester for example not forgetting Luton and Birmingham winning the League Cup. It still rankles with me today that second division Southampton won the FA Cup when we had our best ever team in 76.

Anyway this has nothing to do with the thread title.

Portsmouth are my second team.

As lived down there for four years in my late teens and early twenties.

Great place and the football club support was unreal. In fact went to more games down there then as to Loftus then - as apparently it is now known as !!

Fantastic atmosphere in the ground and everyone was a local then too.

I follow their results now but dont support them ie couldn't care less what they do as a club. In fact, probably like seeing them lose as a mate is still a massive fan....

But that game against Southampton for Leicester, that's worse then anything I can remember QPR achieving. Well done Leicester on achieving that level of mediocrity - very impressive achievement of sh*t....

Of all your revelations, this one has surprised me the most (genuinely).

With all due respect, I feel like this could come back to bite you in the buttocks.
