I get the impression fans are an inconvenience on these tours these days and are actively discouraged with games played behind closed doors, little or no info being given out in advance etc....
Years ago it was a great chance for players, staff and fans to mingle have a laugh, a beer and sometimes a kickabout.
I haven't been one one since 2010 but I hear from those who have It's all gone a bit "modern football" since the Prem years |  |

I went to the tour in Spain the season Martinez left and Sousa arrived. I forget the name of the resort north of Barcelona.
The game I saw a was a defeat v Espanol.
One young fellow decided it would be a good idea to delay the match a little with what was called a " streak" in the 1980s. I do not know if this is a pre season tradition or not. It was ready hit o the beach I recall upper 30s. |  |
