Spot on, a friend has a mother with heart failure. She can take care of herself and is fine cognitively. She does need help with physical tasks, even standing up to make a meal is difficult. She has a carer who does all the physical activity for her, is a good companion and friend. |
Mrs works 2 days a week 3 this week at the local special school as it happens to help another member of staff and she's our lads main carer lots of disturbed sleep especially if he's all snuffly and needs his nebuliser and usually changing she can be up over an hour, she gets carers allowance, but it's pathetic amount for what can be 24/7 on occasions illness etc or worse still hospital stays.
Nobody would work for the amount a family carer gets, we have a nurse and her assistant here twice a week and once a fortnight on a Saturday what takes some of the strain off Mrs. |  | | |

Thanks for the praise, but there's plenty of people in same or similar positions he's our son and expect very few would do anything different for their own, he was born like it due to complications at birth placenta abruption meaning that he suffered a massive amount of oxygen loss, Mrs is the main reason that he's still with us at 29, he's got a good cough as well which has really helped him.
Parents that cope with their children being Autistic takes some doing, not sure I'd cope to be honest, Mrs works with children with autism and they can run you ragged. | | | |

Mrs CJ works at a hospice The care workers are mostly local, but by no means all.The docs and consultants are mixed, with many foreign born ones. I believe this is replicated throughout the health board,
She comes home after her shift, and usually falls asleep on the sofa. They are on their feet most of the time, because it's often understaffed.
