Good read that, from one of my all time favourites.
A few years ago when Roger was due to play his 500 th game away at Northampton
Phil Sumbler asked if I could print a few sheets of A4 with 500 on them
So I printed about 25 planning to ask Northampton on the night if I could tape them to the goal before he came out for the warm up.I
Game was postponed the afternoon of the night game.

Interesting read and good to learn that we will now hear from Rog regularly. It is sobering to think that backup keepers at many clubs today get paid far more than Rog in his pomp. But perhaps Rog can console himself a little with the thought that their money can't buy the respect and admiration of the Jack Army that he enjoys. | | | |
