 Forty years ago this happened for the swans 2nd May 2021 10:52I was there, yes I was, it took us three days to get home holding up the gear box in the car with Tesco bags. The floor had fallen through, driving at 5mph sometimes at 10mph. But we made it.Ian Callaghan gave us a lift for the last ten miles to the ground, five of us all crunched in to his Land Rover. It was a tale of pure joy that day, and yes it was forty years ago.  0

What a day & night when we got back to the Ferry. Stopped outside Preston in a small off license went in & asked the lady could we get the boys in a couple at a time to buy some booze, the lady must have been in her 70's was in complete shock. After all the boys had finished buying she was nearly wiped out, she said it was the busiest day she had ever had we even bought all the Champagne she had, thank god we won & it tasted fantastic even if it was plonk. | | | |
