| Cameron Toshack ? on 12:26 - Jul 21 with 1493 views | Thornburyswan | Clearly very connected to the club & would receive initial support plus appears to work well with a crop of younger players - not sure if he has any meaningful player/top club contacts so would need to gel well with Scott/Winter but would, I presume, work within our budgets & backroom team (if any stay of course). Would be a gamble - aren’t they all mind - & suspect we’d need to manage our expectations at least for the season ahead. | | | |

question is why wasnt he considered at the time of Coopers appointment..I think he was interviewed? Surely Curt and Britts who were involved would have seen something?

| Cameron Toshack ? on 12:36 - Jul 21 with 1449 views | Dr_Winston | Less concerned than I might have been two years ago. Knows the club, knows a lot of the players. Would have developed as a coach here back in the days when us playing attractive football was still a thing. Did very well in a tough situation in Cyprus. | |

Possibly v=because Cooper had better contacts regarding loan players ?

| Cameron Toshack ? on 12:39 - Jul 21 with 1441 views | Catullus | He did well initially in Cyprus and I think, when he was sacked, they were in a better position than when he started. It's always a gamble but he was responsible for many of the young players who came through in recent years and may be worth a punt. If we're talking connections then maybe he hasn't as many as Cooper but I can't be sure. I'm sure he made a few through his Dad, some will still be around but if we're looking more at developing our own youngsters he could be the right person. I looked this up, https://www.walesonline.co.uk/ I wonder why they sacked him and just what direction did they want to move in? He gets manager of the month, beats APOEL away then gets sacked! | |

I listened to Alan Curtis yesterday, he seemed well off the pace.

I watched a few games and the style of football wasn't great. Quite rigid and defensive and struggled to break down relative minnows even with players like Jason Puncheon and Sam Hutchinson on the books. Big money behind the club and a lot of meddling, his ticket was punched before the season had even started supposedly with his replacement measuring for curtains. They're on their third manager since Toshack now, in less than a year.

Quite rigid and defensive, sounds like the perfect replacement for Cooper then!

When have we ever gone for the expensive option? I don't think Leon would want the task, but I'd fully support those who're aware of what's expected here at Swansea City. You say disaster before they've even taken a training session.

And you called Cooper arrogant, after the two seasons we have had. Careful what you wish for

Those under 17 had mostly grown up and gone elsewhere. Toshack with Rangel and Routledge in support.

everyone believes that Robertos appointment caqn be repeated by using one of the players form those days that worked as he cam back to a team where a lot of players already knew him had played with him at our lowest ebband he knew the strengths and weaknesses of those players and how he could get things to work> he also did this in LG one we are now in the championship>>>we tried this experiment in the premier when we gave the gig to MONK who was part of that era of golden play under Roberto and Brendan yet what happened? Cooper has been derided but i still say he was making the most of what he had this season we have added Walsh who appears more creative and attacking supposedly Piroes and Kyle Joseph so we have more options than last year along with a returning Cullen and Whittaker>>maybe we would have seen adifferent style who knows but it doesnt mean by using one of these explayers we will easily return to that style we enjoyed back then it was all about a combination of things circumstances are not the same today

I don’t agree that he was making the most of what he had. Cooper’s swans were less than the sum of its parts.

And Roberto was a bit of a freak when it came to studying the game when he was a player.

If the individuals are such then why arent there clubs banging the door down to snap them up? I have said before we are all entitled to our opinions...Cooper was nt liked by many if our fans I get that...but also there were huge myths generated...but the king is dead long live the king.

There is no evidence to say that he made the most of what he had or that he overachieved. Love if the swans isn’t solely about league position for all of us fans, and if it was there would be more love for Garry Monk, being that he was our most successful Premier League manager.
