In the UK they tend to happen in quieter areas, like Hungerford or Dunblane. The last one was ten years ago in Cumbria. More armed response Police in urban centres.

A 10 year old boy killed. The world is broken. Every time I lookat the news these days (or so it seems) a child has died or been been murdered. That girl in the North Wales holiday park, a 2 year old in Bridgend, a 3 year old in a farm accident, a 17 year old committed suicide in Newport and a week old baby in a hospital in Swansea.
We are supposed to cherish our kids, to keep them safe but the world has gone loopy. We have a whole section of society, not too young but not too old, who seem to see kids AND elderly people as a nuisance. People blaming their kids because they can't go out on the lash, people blaming the "older people" for brexit and for the covid lockdowns. Have we ever been such a fractured society? | |
