I think all these guy should get 46 solid senior games under their belts this season. 5-15 games here and there is no good for them.

Send them to league 1 like Roberts Grimes Rodon McBurnie and James did. Better for 40+ games not 10 or so in a half season. It would do them a power of good.

Jazz Richards spent too long on the sidelines CR23 has played roughly the same number of games as JR at 25 or so.

The club needs to ensure game time. Maybe national league with Wrexham, Yeovil or Torquay, Exeter city.

EFL clubs aren't crying out for Swansea City academy players. All well and good saying send them out, but when the only options are Welsh Prem or to be emergency injury cover is there really much benefit? Connor Roberts stalled for 18 months because he went on bad loans. Dan James went to Shrewsbury coming off an injury and then spent another 6 months recovering from issues before he could complete 90 minutes for the u23s.

Very difficult to find guarantees that our young players will play and be treated properly. We're not a Liverpool or Man Utd where lower league managers are desperate to play a part in developing their next stars. When full Wales internationals are being bought by League One sides who's keen to take a chance with some u21s?

Ben Cabango went to TNS for 6 months and flourished. Brandon Cooper and Garrick both performed well for 6 months. 12 months would have been better.

joe Lewis played every week for Torquay and was then released and Cameron Evens appears to be doing well in ain a struggling Waterford team. Gould has found a slot and probably just ot get him off the wages in a competitve position. Jack Evans sent away before release.

What about development loans? Easier at National league level especially if Swansea pay 100% of the wages.

I was disappointed we recalled Brandon as he was doing very well for Newport, but who knows whether he would have suffered the two ankle injuries either way. Their form and quality of their football had deteriorated at the same rate as their pitch from late November into December.

Cam Evans has been getting good reviews. Their results seem to have improved recently. Good that he seems to be there for their full season rather than being recalled.

Cardiff have been sending players out to Welsh Prem sides - Sion Spence and Sam Bowen went to Barry Town etc. How beneficial it is depends on the player, it's a big step down in quality and probably professionalism as well. Cabango got to play in Champions League qualifiers, and the style of play might suit the progression of a rugged centre half more than smaller, more technical attacking players.

Lewis Webb needs a loan. Wants minutes aswell.

Highly thought of here but going with the first team squad everywhere they go just in case someone gets injured in warm up isn’t doing him any good.

Not convinced with Cullen yet, Curtis was pretty damning of him in commentary regarding the lack of improvement in his hold up play, I wouldn’t be against him going out on loan but I’m unsure whether he would be promised game time while playing against the big no nonsense centre halves of the lower leagues.

Just playing against men would be a massive benefit, Shirley.

.
Poll: Who are you voting for this year? I'm sure Grimes will be popular. I've gone Oli

Not for me. Once you get a certain distance down the pyramid more factors come into play than simply "it's senior football".

So what is your recommendation? . Ollie hardly played last season Cullen got 17 games mostly sub 3 goals and Webb is in the first team squad but has not played. Hasen Defrertas might be ahead of him.

Webb is 19, as a goalkeeper time is on his side. Hasn't had a full season in the u23s yet, jumped up to first team training last season to make up the numbers and kept from regular games due to the bubbles (same as Dan Williams).

It's difficult. With some of these lads without any buzz or crafty agents if we don't show faith in them no one will. A League Two side could take someone like Oli for half a season but Swindon just signed full senior international Jonny Williams instead. Cullen has had offers in the past afaik, if the new strikers bed in quickly he might go out in January, and with those 17 games 3 goals the quality of offer he can attract should be better. He'll be more of a known quantity to those clubs in the market for a poacher.

Bristol Rovers. Went as injury cover for a manager who was known not to rotate his squad, and would stick with his favourites. Shockingly barely got to kick a ball.

The previously mentions Sion Spense Wales u21 play maker is now with Bristol Rovers, Surprisingly released "down the road" and ended up at Crystal Palace where he delivered big time in the u23s. Now has another chance. Possibly his last.

afaik Spence wasn't "released" so much as Cardiff put a bunch of contracts for young players on hold when covid hit, leaving them in limbo. Rubin Colwill was training on his own in a park in Neath from what I hear. A few came to train with us (Spence included I think) and Spence got a better offer in the interim.
