Must be one of their all time legends up at Sunderland, second highest number of appearances for the club with over 450 games and second only to a goal keeper.

Did well with Newport County, I think he was in charge when Cardiff were relegated early 80’s and for the infamous Welsh Cup Final and he took them back up a year or so later. Went to Sunderland and struggled there. Seemed like a decent guy.

he brought John Aldridge to Newport from his Liverpool connections. Front three with Dai Gwyther and Tommy Tynan who both played for Swansea if my memory serves me correctly.

Good memory. Indeed they did, well before my time though.

Tynan played 6 games in 1975 scoring 6 goals while Gwyther was a Swans between 1965 and 1973. Geyther played 218 games and scored 58 goals, well decent figures.
