He's spot on about the business aspects though. It's been particularly obvious on here in recent seasons that a lot of people don't have the first idea how expensive it is to run a football club and how surprising it is that we've spent the kind of money that we have.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Agree very well written and well balanced article. Hopefully this summer will give Martin the chance to fine tune his team to how he wants to play, as well as allowing him to finish building the squad he needs to do it, within the financial confines he has to work with. The comparison with Roberto Martinez is very apt. Hopefully Sunday's result will be the springboard for more decent performances and results and giving him a good foundation to build upon

Of course we all know you cannot commend the owners. The owner of course include the fans 21% owners. I commend the owners that took up the Convertible loan note. £13m paying an annual interest of £650k. They bought Downers, Piroe, Ogbeta, Ntcham and Fisher with it, paid off more expensive debts and did some maintenance. I encourage them to convert as soon as possible and dilute the non contributing owners namely the fan ownership. It is reasonable to assume the bought players will increase in value to pay off the £650k. The fans group appear from rumours to be coming to the moment of truth. They need to decide whether to be on the outside and complaining or on the inside and contributing. In my opinion they have been very poorly run. I recommend they take professional advice and commission a report to determine the best way forward for them outlining their investment options. [Post edited 15 Feb 2022 14:58]

Surely at the end of the day it is just the author's opinions ? I am not sure that on Planet Swans he is adverse to criticism or opposing views being offered ?

And how does the business aspect align with a manager who has spent the second largest amount ever, outside of the Premier league years, and yet repeatedly calls for more new players? A manager who was looking to bring in his third £1M+ player this season and chooses to draft in a loan signing from Man City rather than use young players already at the club?

He singles out Ben Cabango for extra praise. He is the only academy player in the side. Benda, Rushesha, Abudulai, B Cooper, C Evans., Cooper O, Williams D, Garrick, Joseph, Whittaker, Cullen. Benda, Cooper boys and Garrick, Whittaker and Cullen will be expecting to play and get new contracts in the Summer . Cotterill Butler Congreave Lloyd Campbell bright young things Hamer, Bennett, Smith, Dhanda Fulton are 'ordinary Joes' blocking player development. Fulton and Dhanda appear to have no sell on value and cannot be shifted.
