Happened to a dog of mine, luckily she survived. I took her to Haven Vets in Llanelli where she was kept in from that morning onto the same time the following day. I did not even see the snake. This happened in Melin Mynach Gorseinon which was (still is?) a popular dog walking spot for people who came from miles around.
One minute my dog was O.K next thing she was panting, in obvious distress and her head had swollen to an extent that she looked more like a pit bull than the Jack Russel she was. The sand dunes down Gower are most notorious for being Adder hotspots apparently! |  |

Thanks for the reminder , mine is more partial to the beach but with the restrictions forthcoming to allow the humans to desecrate the beautiful beaches we have ( so they can enjoy their barbeques and stella without those pesky dogs bonding about the place ) we'll have to look for alternatives , we recently had a stroll up to Pontneddfechan waterfalls and next on the list is Henrhyd Falls . |  |

I've been there before from the car park , a few years ago to take pictures ( without the/a dog ) but this time I hope plan to do the walk from the Tawe up and return. | |
