| Teenage loans Fin Stevens 14:08 - Nov 29 with 1152 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Fin is clearly a good prospect but not ready for the championship according to Martin. So why is he at the club? Rhys Williams, Fin Burns now Stevens. None of them played. I can understand super elite players like Gallagher and Brewster but not real good prospects like fin at 18-19. He belongs at Newport not Swansea. If Fin is elite he would be in Qatar. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/has-fin-stevens-got-a-future-at-brentford-here | |

| Teenage loans Fin Stevens on 17:56 - Nov 29 with 1051 views | Dr_Parnassus | Why is Brewster “super elite”? He plays in the Championship and scored 4 in 58 games for Sheff Utd. Gallagher also wasn't “super elite” when he came to us, he was also playing in the championship at the time as just a prospect. Rhys Williams is more elite than anything we have had on loan since Renato Sanches. 9 EPL appearances and 6 Champions League appearances, most of them starts, some of them MotM displays with many Liverpool fans wanting him to be Van Dijk’s permanent CB partner. What you seem to be doing is deciding if the manager has made them work, then calling them “super elite” if he does and “just prospects” if he doesn’t. The reality is, they are all just prospects, hence why they are on loan - it’s what the manager can do with them that counts. | |

Chris Wilder thought Brewster was elite . He paid £23m for a 20 year old. Guehi was elite being a full England international and PL regular at 21. Your hero did not make Gallagher. In fact Gallagher did poorly for Swansea and was much better at Charlton and Palace. It is g fanciful to pretend Cooper made these players. They came from Chelsea and Liverpool. I still believe Brewster will be a top player as will Gallagher and Guehi. Finn sadly will probably not get to the heights. Cooper did well to bring them all along. He polished the diamonds he did not cut them. [Post edited 29 Nov 2022 21:54]

Wilder didn’t offer anything for him when he arrived here. We are talking about them when they arrived not after they left. You are proving my point that you are deducing whether they are elite or not on the basis of how the manager got them to perform. The difference between receiving interest or not after a loan spell is how they fare here. That is largely down to how the manager can fit them into the side and nurture them. Reckon anyone pays £23m for Brewster now? Nah me neither.

Brewster is an elite player and u17 world cup winners. He is very young still. He has had a bad 12 months. It happens especially in a team that i he is not suited to. Gallagher and Guehi can thank Cooper for their development. Gallagher was a star at Charlton and underachieved at Swansea. No doubt about it Guehi developed well at Swansea but was already destined for better things. Williams and Burns showed nothing, I doubt Burns ever wanted to come to Swansea and has done nothing since. Williams was seriously effected by some abuse (according to Martin) Cabango gets every week

Brewster is not an elite player, which is why he plays in the Championship and nobody has come in to ease their financial burden on him. None of these players were elite when they came to us… which is why they came to us. It’s revisionism at its finest to suggest the ones that worked out were elite. As I said, Williams is the most elite of any loan player since Renato Sanches. These are facts as uncomfortable as they may be for certain agendas.
