| No cash signings for a year at Swansea ? 22:58 - Jan 17 with 830 views | KeithHaynes | I’m just thinking is that right ? Reading Rj’s match info report tonight. People talk about Nathan Wood I suppose but the info we had he was free. In any event even if the club did pay for him it’s pretty poor considering we have lost well over ten from the playing staff.

| No cash signings for a year at Swansea ? on 00:03 - Jan 18 with 702 views | Dr_Parnassus | Depends what you mean by “cash”. Whether it’s cash to a club or cash to a player makes no real difference. For example bringing in Joe Allen would be similar to buying him from Stoke, when people are on a free transfer they essentially command that transfer fee themselves in form of a signing on fee/higher wages. The Ntcham for a prime example was crazy. But Darling was a multi million pound signing made this season if talking strictly about club to club transfers, and Wood was apparently around 400k I was told at the time. It’s listed officially as “undisclosed” which clubs do to avoid telling other clubs how much they have to spend, if it was free it would be beneficial to say so. £2.5m in club to club transfers this season added to around £5m of club to club transfers last season. That’s the biggest spending 18 months we have had in the football league I believe, in our history. [Post edited 18 Jan 2023 0:06]

I agree, just seemed an odd thing to say. | |
