Interesting, shows how well Burnley are supported place isn’t much bigger than Barry and penarth ffs. We on the other hand….taking into consideration our support from the valleys, Bridgend, PT, the vale etc….support from the city itself is less than 5%. City has a 400,000 pop nowadays and 5% of that is 20,000 which is way off….. |  | | |

Thing is both Swansea and Cardiff have a big fan base out of their respective cities.
Let’s be honest they are the two biggest land based clubs in the whole country, so it’s all a bit skewed.

Norwich have excellent support considering.
For us, much like the Canton Jamrags, our support depends heavily on how well we're doing. IF we were in the Prem doing well we could probably pull in gates of 30,000+ given our catchment area and the capacity to do so, but they disappear quickly in times of trouble.
Difference between us and our Eastern Cousins is that we don't pretend otherwise. |  |

There is another table doing the rounds regards wages, income and attendance and I don't remember the exact place we were in but again it was around mid table.
I think once the dust settles, the reality that the season just gone was about right where we are as a club and what we have at our disposal. |  |

Unfortunately it is impossible to judge clubs local populations due to the differing local systems of government. Just in Wales for example the local population of Swansea and Cardiff have been inflated from 170,000 and 240,000 to 238,00 and 362,000 respectively because they are now both city and counties.
Even the figures for the English clubs are not consistent. Birmingham listed as over 1 million while QPR and Millwall are in London and have been given tiny population in the table when there are millions of Londoners within a travling distance of 20 minutes.
Norwich have been given a local population of 144,000 but they draw support from the while of County of Norfolk which is 950,000.
The same goes for Stoke the population of Staffordshire is 850,000.
The table is pretty meaningless because it does not compare like with like. [Post edited 13 Jun 2023 6:52]
