| Wood and Piroe both under discussion regardless of news to the contrary on 09:46 - Aug 23 with 2178 views | SullutaCreturned | Some people love to be thought of as "ITK" because it makes them feel important. Some journo's will produce any old nonsense and present it as fact, it's what silly season is all about. it didn't used to be that way. Speculation and "silly talk" should be for us fans on forums like this and lets be honest, we are good at it. When it comes to the media though, they can hardly be trusted, any story has be viewed suspiciously until we know it's fact. My son follows Fabrizio Romano ( I think that's the fella ) and apparntly he is a very reliable source of info, rarely wrong. Nobody is right all the time though. | | | |

Fabrizio is all about breaking what he believes is credible news on players, that’s pretty much what he does. 👍

Sky reporting they value him at £8 million, I certainly hope we are not entertaining any bids like that

Then they won’t get him. As stated yesterday there won’t be any movement this week.

I wouldn't trust leeds to get promoted at the end of the season for the big bonus. As they are gonna struggle this year, Last year you could see from day one that Burnley were going to rip the league apart. Unless its Dan James 8 million upfront 50% sell on fee and 7 million in add ons tell them to f off. Why would we purposely strengthen a direct rival? Unless promotion wasn't really our aim this year...

You watch them try it on with a similar deal to Obafemi.

yeah 100% mate thats what I am thinking, The Leeds side is in crisis ,I think we are in a better position than leeds to go up. After how selfish Leeds have been with us since not selling them Dan James on the cheap I wouldn't deal with them. Remember the dramah being loaned to Cardiff? Geldhart (spelling) not being loaned. This is just a pathetic attempt to unsettle Joel and make sure he doesn't sign that new deal. Piroe has been a shadow of his usual self so far this year. The daily mail are saying 10 mil now. How could we replace a player like him with 10 mil? Leeds are cheap skates. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sp [Post edited 23 Aug 2023 13:31]

If he refuses to sign a new contract he leaves for nothing at the end of the season, with that in mind anything around or above £10m I'd sell him, it's been mentioned before that an injury could see a player losing a big chunk of the season, that's a big gable to take even with somebody else's money.

I believe Swansea have come to a gentleman's agreement with Piroe and his agent last week to over a potential non sale. Playing hard ball is possible if Swansea are not desperate to sell. Hard ball is good for team Piroe also if he is offered a cut of the transfer fee. I deally Piroes wants to be in the premier league. The offer currently see him playing in the same place. It seem Everton have told him "you are not ready and need to work on a). b) and c). " Pioe is work in progress. If t is in the championship then add another year. Levien was an agent. Coleman certainly talks a good game. Swansea were interested in Gelheart and Sam Greenwod a year ago. Neither have kicked on. Greenwood was quoted as a set piece specialist.

| Wood and Piroe both under discussion regardless of news to the contrary on 21:22 - Aug 23 with 1137 views | sw02sea | I always think being Welsh, our national trait is to always undermine and underestimate ourselves and our sports stars? When you think that in 2019 the Wales rugby team were ranked No 1 in the world rankings, and the size of the pool of players to choose from was basically from south wales, which is literally like a dot on the world rugby map. Yet as soon as we loose a game, we to a man (or woman) think it’s the end of the world, and we start to undervalue the very players that brought that success in the first place. Now you maybe thinking, what’s this got to do with the Piroe thread ? For someone who’s found the net 46 times in 96 appearances in The championship, with sometimes questionable, to say the least service, you have to say why are we undervaluing him on this and other forum sites? If Piroe was playing for any other decent championship side, they would value that scoring record accordingly ie £14m + With only a year left on his contract, Viktor Gyokeres went for £19m, so why because we are little ol Swansea from little ol wales are people undervaluing him at £7m to £10m ? | | | |

Nothing at all to do with little old Swansea, Sporting were prepared to pay £19m, no one as yet, is offering anywhere near that for Piroe. Gyokeres in my opinion is a better all round player than Piroe.

The general consensus was that 7-10 was taking the pee. if we lose joel that will be my 2 favourite players gone in one window. The only thing that could fill the hole is young Iwan making the step up and ripping apart the league.
