Think you will find that most new managers unsure of their squad are reluctant to make changes, sure both Cooper and Martin started off in similar fashion and that was when we had a limited amount of subs, sometimes last year the wholesale changes meant the players were moved all over the place and back again eventually becoming more considered, sometimes they worked sometimes not. | | | |

Don't really know how we managed to lose that.
Approach play far too indecisive and pedestrian for my liking.

Without wanting to be negative, we've heard it before.
The pace of our game, generally speaking, was too slow. When we moved the ball it was slower than Prestons passing. When we passed it was slow happening and we gave Preston plenty of time to drop deep whereas they came at us with pace and didn't give us time to organise.
When the subs came...Pato, I just don't want him here. I thought Kuharevich should have come on for Cullen who was poor. We needed a physical presence to rough up Preston a bit. They were doing it to us and we had no answer.
We have needed more pace for 2 years, our movement and passing still needs more pace to it.
PS, it wasn't that bad, there are signs but a lot of work is needed. Duff needs time, not brickbats. [Post edited 27 Aug 2023 17:11]
