What could of been 😮
As much as people adore Bodde I do have to wonder how he would have done against better players.
From what I know of him he was blessed with prodigious talent but no great intellect. A bit like Jonjo Shelvey. All the ability in the World but minimal processing capacity.
In all likelihood PL players would have managed him for the most part but it's nice to dream.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Check this out from another player who didn’t quite make it for some reason. You are spot on with the Jonjo comparison but Boddes injury will always leave him in the category of could have been fantastic. With jonjo he always had the next Steven Gerrard milestone around his neck also didn’t care enough to be great. He got the England call up and everything, But then you only got to think of the Oxford fa cup game to get an idea on how professional he was. I don’t ever think I have seen a player that couldn’t be arsed to play as much to be honest mate, He was built up and it got to the lads head. Shame really. When I think shelvey I think 50 yard passes that would land on a 5p coin. When you think bodde dam he could hit it. Look at the next clip for a great example of a player with potential that never really made it.
In all my many years supporting the swans, this goal is right up there. Two of the most nerve wracking games I’ve ever witnessed in that play off semi. But, what a feeling after Pratley did this. One of the best feelings and atmospheres I’ve ever witnessed down the liberty.

The best goal that never was from Steve Jenkins. Can’t find any footage. This game was abandoned with six minutes to go. FA Cup tie. Alan Ball was Exeter manager, those who recall will know he had a high pitched Squeeky voice. When the lights went out all you could hear was ‘leave ‘em 💥 off, leave ‘em 💥 off.’ We were in the seats right next to the players tunnel.
Jenkins goal was a superb strike from way out.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
