| Two of Swnsea u21 'almost beat' Celtic ? 19:37 - Feb 7 with 1371 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I was going to congratulate Cotterill and Congreve for beating Celtic in Glasgow at 1-0 up at 90+4 of 5 mins of added time. Celtic then score at 90+6 or 7. They are getting great experience young. This is exactly what we want to see our on loan players doing. People say the academy has dried up. There is a Celtic mini sub group on here. Presumably they have missed their chance. Squad depth and all that. [Post edited 7 Feb 19:44]

Players at 21 will kick on or falter in the adult game. New skill new vision new skills enhanced confidence. It is common for returning players once they have 100 games under their belts being described as "new players" at this age. Grimes for one. Connor Roberts another. [Post edited 8 Feb 0:22]

Completely in agreement Keith. Our two at Falkirk are head and shoulders above the lads at Dundee in terms of first team readiness.

If the two at Dundee were anywhere near showing enough potential to be close to the first team we wouldn't be buying so many midfielders. They come nowhere near close to the standard of the players we have bought.

As home grown players they can be good squad players. Swansea should save up for elite players and not overpay for honest grafters or player with bad injury histories. Think of the money Swansea has thrown at the flowing for little reward in most cases. Sorinola, Naughton 32+ , Allen 32+, Santos, Joel Ward, Christie , Ogbeta, Ginnelly , Fisher, Liam Walsh Bianchini even Obafemi, Kuharevych and Yates. Fisher Fulton are on big money. These, Santos, Ward and Bianchini can be replaced by the Scottish four plus keeper..

What's the point of the "Scottish four" playing backup? Fultoon is the only one you mentioned who gets regular game time - so you want us to get rid of him and play Cotterell in his place? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Cotterell and Congreve wouldn't have made our bench today and are very unlikely too in the future if we have any ambition. Lissah time will tell, as I said in January I would have liked to recall him and have him in and around the squad, but obviously the club prefer him playing week in week out. Wilson is only 2 years younger than Vipotnik and there is no comparison physically. We play one up front and Wilson will need to be a lot stronger if he wants to play the role for us, is it the reason we are holding Bobby Wales back?

I said it before, Its great they are getting exposer all these players, but know one stands out other than Lissah as a player who will fit nicely into our squad. As arragagant as it sounds, I think we might of out grown these players and our current and future squad will be difficult to get into. That's more a reflection of Matos and what he has done and the minimal performance level required.

Yeah, lissah came on before the end of the 90 too. 2 goals in extra time ( neither involved our 2 ) send Falkirk thru to the 1/4 finals.
