No surprise either, anyone come out of the FA system follows the same antiquated ways as the ones gone before. They will have another inquest at the end of the world cup, blame fixture lists, tired players, referees and come to the same conclusion every time but nothing changes.
If you gave a decent coach the time to work with the players they have at their disposal they would go far but any side they insists on playing players out of position when they are better options out there who play there week in week out deserve all they get.

They'll try to reduce the numbers of them. Quite why they think that lowering the standard of the PL will improve the standard of the National team it's hard to tell, but that's how these dopes operate.

Well there are two quick wide players that I can think of that are perfect for fast counter attacking football. Instead we see Wellbeck and Henderson. Then Woy brings on Lallanna and Barklay who play in the same position as the very average Roons a balloon. The bloke Hodgson is an utter berk....and seems to be immune from criticism. Weird. |  |

The great hope Barkley was rather ineffective across both games and he played a good hour of football in total. The fact that the nation's hopes rest on his vastly inexperienced shoulders shows you how desperate it's becoming. He's incredibly talented but yet to play a minute of European football.
The great inquest won't reveal much but England are actually taking steps in the right direction. They actually played decent football in both games and Roy took the best squad available rather than taking out of form big names. In terms of grass roots development, we won't be able to measure its success for a good 10-15 years. Until then I predict more mediocrity.

I dont like or rate Redknapp but at least he would have taken the best of what England could offer regardless of who they play for or who they are.

They were in form though, and their natural position is out wide and their natural game is counter attack. England only had 1 natural wide player in sterling, therefore were too predictable and easy to read, none of the England players put the opposition defenders on the back foot, it was way too easy. |  | | |
