I guess its possible just like it's possible that Trump won't send her back because his America first policy also means 'screw you' to anybody not American, even his so called allies.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I cases like this the accused should have a choice, come back or be tried in their absence.

You can guarantee if the postion was reversed the Trump administration would be kicking up all sorts of schit and making endless threats to get the Brit driver sent back for trial.

I get diplomatic immunity but it is really meant to protect people from prosecution if they have genuinely committed a crime? Justice shouldn't be hamstrung like this. You should be able to present evidence to an international court and if they find it enough to probably get a conviction then the accused should be returned.
