Covid 13:34 - Dec 2 with 586 viewsexhmrc1

I have just had the most awful news that an ex colleague of mine has passed away this morning after 4 weeks in a coma with covid. He was mid forties. RIP Paul

Awful news and deepest condolences to you and his family. Too many people are slagging off the tough measures being taken because they are only going by their personal experiences.

News like this really hammers it home :-(

I agree totally. People who pretend it isnt a problem and how it is fake need to face up to the real world. He was in a coma for over 28 days so probably wont even count on the covid stats. He had a trachhi last week and appeared to be coming out of his coma. It causes so many other problems pnemonia and failure of other organs yet people look for other reasons. Immensly sad. He was 46 or 47.

Tragic and what an ordeal. And the other worrying thing is this attacks different DNA's in different ways. You just don't know where you personally would figure in its severity if you caught it, or anyone else for that matter.

We've had it in the house (the Mrs) and she was ill for 3 or 4 days but certainly not life threatening, thankfully. I may have had it and not known, I don't know. But just because for her it was just a "bad flu" I wouldn't play it down when others are really suffering.

Be careful, sensible, and stay safe folks.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Unfortunately some on here dont think that way. Members of my family have had it and been ill but nothing like this. A good mate of mine had it. He felt very ill but didnt get hospitalised. But to die from it at 46 or 47 with no huge illness is shocking. Sadly we dont know how it will affect any of us. A girl I know in her mid 60s died with it. Her father who was 88 survived it

It's a complicated virus and bloody tragic for some. Again, condolences. :-(

Awful to hear mate.

I had similar back in April when a colleague in his 40s started to experience symptoms and within 72 hours he was dead.

Stay safe everyone, you just don’t know what this thing will do to you if you get it.

Same sentiments form me taxy.

I have lost three close friends due to this curse and it is fair to say I am very agressive to those think it is ;
like flu
only old people die of it
it will somehow go away and we'll be as we were.

We will not.Life has changed as should we. No more self.No more whinging about pubs being shut too long,no more whinging about not being able to have a holiday abroad (as much as I love them).

We can only beat this by us ALL being sensible like we've never been before.

I will take this vaccine asap.

Condolences .

Richie

I will be having the vaccine as well. Anyone offer 50 needs it. It is only when it is rolled out will we be safe to move in. Some things are more risky than others. Holidays and bringing the virus back, opening pubs and people visiting each others houses have been proven to be the main catalyst. Shops and things like hairdressers can continue as there isnt transmission there. As you know I have serious doubts over the mask issue. When you are close to others for long periods they need to be used. The evidence the authorities have is that there is very little cases through fleeting contact yet we have masks in shops and corridors in schools but not in pubs and classrooms when you are close to other for much longer.

Sad news mate. Fortunately I know of nobody who has died or even just suffered badly from it but that does not make me complacent.

Thanks to you and Djack. Truly awful that anyone under 50 should be losing his life yet some still believe it is some kind of hoax or that people would have died in 3 months anyway. I know of 2 people who have died who would have lived for many years if it wasn't for this awful virus. All I wish is people would realise that saving lives is what matters most so that others dont suffer like Paul did. Let us hope we all keep ourselves safe on here.
