| Balogun and contract situations. 13:20 - Jan 6 with 2306 views | ReslovenSwan1 | The very promising Arsenal stiker is linked on loan. He will not sign a deal with Arsenal as he unlike is mates Saka and Rowe is not gettting game time. He has only a short time left on his deal. A bit like Borini in fact. Borinis agent had already sorted out a deal back to italy . It seems to me the player wants to play for Arsenal First XI but does not want to be stuck in the reserves. Answer play for Swansea instead of Arsenal resereves and rejoin Arsenal when you are ready. This can be achieved by giving Balogun to Swansea on a permanent signing with an Arsenal buy back within 2 seasons if he does the business. Say for a maximum £8m. They could also leave at Swansea and ask for a sell on clause of say 25%. They know that Swansea will sell if the money is right. Brewster went from promising kid to £26m player in 6 months. Joel Latibeaudire was talked about in a similar way before signing on a free. It seems to me with this sort of deal everyone is happy. [Post edited 6 Jan 2021 13:22]

Unfortunately if he is going to leave Arsenal not sure why he'd join us permanently when he's wanted by big clubs over here and in Germany who he could join for a smallish tribunal fee (but still not a fee we'd likely match to pay Arsenal) and receive a hefty signing on fee. Our only realistic hope is he signs a new contract at Arsenal and they loan him to us.

At face value ,a deal that could send us up. I mat be too overconfident on this however, but this is the calibre we should look for not Crawley Town lumineries. We are Swansea City ffs.

Do not forget the Cooper factor. At that age they must have worked together in the past. The player must know Joel Latibeaudeire and Guehi as well I would think. The lesson of Brewster and Gallagher are clear to see when you compare them to Guehi. Why rush these players into struggling teams playing hoofballin the PL.? Matondo now at Stoke having not settled in Germany.

Would the Cooper factor alone prevail over money of a Bayern Munich etc? Doubtful. Latibeaudiere is the only ex Cooper players we've actually signed&has not played a lot&i don't remember hearing of interest from. Any other clubs for him. But probably more tellingly we're probably not going to pay the wages he'll receive at a bigger club or pay a fee to Arsenal bigger than the tribunal. For every Matondo there's a Sancho.

I believe there are contractual issues relating to all these young players signing for Dortmund and teams in Germany . It revolves I believe around deal done between the Player the players agent and the club. I believe that Dortmund accept they have to pay a proportion of any transfer fee to the agent and the player once they sell the player. It not just about salaries and playing time.

Plenty of young English players do seem to go to German gh so can't be much of an issue. Maybe brexit will make it more difficult. Unfortunately signing him permanently is proper pie in the sky stuff.

Valued at 10 million plus, that pie will have gone off in the freezer and been recycled by then.

| Balogun and contract situations. on 11:37 - Jan 7 with 1572 views | Sarge | It’s just been reported by The Athletic that he’s close to the agreement with a foreign club for a pre-contract. No idea if this is a front to get a better contract from Arsenal or how this effects a potential loan deal should it be true. | | | |

Fingers crossed. This sounds like it could work to our advantage.. just hope it doesn’t lead to us waiting until the 11th hour for a deal.

If He signs a new Arsenal deal I can see him coming here on loan, if not then Arteta won’t want him away from the club with other influences at play with his contract out at the end of the season. Plus he can agree a deal now with any club outside of England.

If media snippets are to be believed, and with Arsenal admitting his agent is causing problems, the lad has had his head turned and wants out from Arsenal. Wouldn't surprise me if he does the fashionable thing at present and go to a team in Germany on a free in summer where he will be pretty much guaranteed game time and get a lovely little signing on fee.

German teams have contractual ways of redirecting club transfer fees into the pockets of the players and agent in my opinion. Transfer fees used to go to clubs now a proportion of the fee goes to the player and agent. Possibly up to half the transfer fee. In not just about playing time and fashion. Englih giants are behind in this respect.
