TV is seriously rubbish! 21:54 - Jan 10 with 695 viewsCatullus

It's often hard to find something worth watching, has anyone got any recommendations?

We tried a so called comedy, "Moonbase 8" with John C Reilly and by eck it was bad, it was painfully bad..

What are we missing? There must be something out there worth watching?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Haven't you got a firestick?

If not buy one, you can watch anything then, tell you what's worth a watch and it was on normal tv, 24 hours in police custody, the black widow, 2 episodes, I enjoyed it.

Nope, no firestick. We've ended up watching repeats of Qi, I end up reading because we've seen them all 4 times.

She doesn't remember, her memory is rubbish because of the anti epileptic drugs she has to take. I'm surprised she keeps her job to be honest.

Mind you I always win arguments because she never remembers what I've said before, unlike most women. And the next day she's forgotten the argument entirely so I don't get any grief.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Perhaps give Netflix a try?
Worth it just for dexter and breaking bad, but just for now give the 24 hours in police custody a whirl.

Its not an age thing is it Cat? We find ourselves the same , very little too please a certain generation, we have a firestick etc, but mainly we peruse you tube , suprisingly loads of films and tv progs, and Vid blogs of anything you may be interested in.

It could well be. The problem, itseems to me, is there are so many of the same programmes on. They may have different names but they're basically the same. We have police reality, we have debt collection, there's seemingly limitless cookery programmes and no end of crap quiz shows. We don't watch soaps, theiy're even more doom and gloom filled than the news!
There's plenty of gritty drama, biopics and true stories (though they usually bend the truth to try and add to the drama) but they are allso cliched, poorly acted and unbelievable...a true story that's unbelieveable, maybe they should have tried more truth and less artistic license.
That's why I like SciFi, it's meant to be fiction but there's hardly a great SciFi series about either. Only repeats and you can only watch them so many times.

We have Netflix and Amazon Prime, I watched Breaking Bad but with lockdown and shielding I have plenty of time and soon burn through series. In the last week I have bingewatched the first 9 series of NCIS and I'm on episode 9 of series 10.

I guess I'll have to take the Lohengrin trail and try to become more of a Bibliophile. I'd rather take my camera and head off to the countryside but...well...you know...

Frankly, books bore me rigid. It is a real effort but Loh has recommended some that are readable for me. Ive short attention span syndrome.

Best learn an instrument and after that learn another.

I wanted to learn the Saxophone but I have arthritis in my hands, my thumbs are quite bad and I drop stuff, often.

Maybe I'll still give it a go and serenade the neighbours, a bit of Gerry Rafferty, or Madness lol

Get a Ukelele,Cat.

Don't get a rubbish one though. Easy enough to give yourself some pleasure and people can join in the songs you can play easily with just a few basic chords.

try Dawsons on line
