The US owners gave the decision of the new managers to Mr Birch. Mr Birch rightly took advice, hoping the Jenkins inspiration reflection would be good for him and brought in club legends Curtis and Leon. The two icons has seen all the best Swansea managers from Martinez to Potter. 2006 -2019.
They chose Cooper. There is little to suggest Cooper is in the Swansea mould like Potter was. Cooper appears to have finished his packed luch by 10:30 and will go hungry until teatime. Cooper had no track record showing a sucessfull possession based game. even more alarmingly he does not appear to believe his star players needd any sort of rest.

The US people will need to consult with Winter regarding Cooper at the end of this season. If the form continues to deteriorate at this alarming rate questions need to be asked. Levien stated the Swansea will always endeavour to follow "best practice".
"Best practice" means undrstanding and using Sports science. The Sports science people would need to be interviewed to determine if Cooper has disregarded their advise. If so this is not "best practice" this is not science.
The support team provided Cooper with three full international and a young promising forward. None were used in even a squad caapacity. Cooper has consistenty picked the same team and not substitiuted of his best players. Lessons need to be learned.
If the manager rejects the science and takes a arrogant "i know best and will not take advise" from anyone then a decsion needs to be made. Cooper himself is a rookie and clearly needs to make improvements. The team should not be fading like this. Signs of deterioration have been telegraphed for several weeks.
Why not consult HJ on this?. 15 season at Swansea and 14 of them sucessfull. In the last 10 years the fottball has been much higher quaity than this. I personally would appoint him to find a new manager in the Brendan / Martinez mould if they decie to make change. | |
