For starters an average middle age man with no underlying health conditions has about a 10-20% chance of ending up in hospital with covid.
Towards the end of the last wave 10% of those in intensive care were under 40 with no underlying health conditions.

I'm beginning to know too many people who've ended up in a bad way after catching Covid for anyone to refuse the vaccine.
Two people I know who've breezed through it are incredibly vulnerable. One 70 year old obese, asthmatic, diabetic woman and a mid forties female friend waiting for her third kidney transplant. Both just felt pretty tired.
I know of two early forties very fit men (I'd consider one of those to be ultra fit) who have ended up in hospital. One on a ventilator for 8 days the other refused to be put on one.
Most others have felt absolutely terrible for up to two weeks.
It is far too random for anyone to refuse the vaccine. You are more likely to die on the journey to be vaccinated than from the vaccine itself. | | | |
