Cyclists are the most tested athletes in world sport & cycling has made big efforts to clean up its act. Cyclists will all be a lot ‘cleaner’ than many of of the ‘roiders that frequent the rugby pitches around the world or the Cokehead footballers
Cavendish has had to recover from illness & work his way back in to form over a long period over 3-4 years. He has had a little luck in that some of the strongest sprinters have dropped out through crashes & injury. Most significantly he is in the strongest team set up to win sprint stages. The rest is down to him - he is rightly recognised as the world’s greatest ever sprinter cyclist in the cycling world |  | | |

A wonderful achievement by an exceptional athlete, but the way team mate Morkov braked on the line to give Cav the record was unbelievable. You work and dream all your life for a stage win and give it away for the good of the team, must be up there with some of the greatest sportsmanship moments ever.
