Lives in the USA six months a year. Leaving the patriotic stuff to one side she is obviously destined through very pushy and financially capable parents for stardom, entering her in to dances with stars etc in the USA. I just think it’s all too young, where’s the childhood ? I didn’t have one at all, but she has had full opportunity to have one but it seems her parents have planned her own life route by proxy. But maybe I’m wrong and she’s just very privileged and as a result become extremely talented.

Team GB were very supportive of her quest to appear in the Olympics. Her brother is a little nutter too, Ocean Brown. She skateboards, dances (as you mentioned) and she is a very talented surfer by all accounts. She loves her life.
| Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year. | | Poll: | What is your favourite Knock? |

It seems so. I’m pretty impressed with UK skateboarding supporting her as the Japanese system can be brutal. But still interested in people’s observations.

I agree with you Keith, kids should be allowed a childhood without all the pressures adults face. I think the Olympics should only allow adults to compete. We've seen the adults collapse under the pressure. I had a disturbed childhood in many ways, I wasn't pressured to succeed, in fact the opposite. I didn't do many of the things I wanted to because my parents were too busy doing their own thing. As a result (and my wife 100% agrees) we don't push our son into anything, we talk to him, see what he wants to do and support that. If he decides to do something, or to not do something, we support that as long as it's safe and affordable. Even with schooling, we encourage a lot, we are always telling him how important school is but what subjects he takes, what path he chooses is his choice. If he were clever enough to go to Uni but chose to leave school to get an apprenticeship, we'd support that. We don't want to be pushy parents, the type who live their lives through their kids and are still pushing when their kids are 30 somethings. We want our son to be his own person but to know that when he needs us, we're always there. If these kids are at the Olympics mostly because their parents want it then it's wrong. If these kids fall apart under the pressure or have troubles in adulthood as a result, the parents need to take a look at what they did and accept their part in it.
