Yes, up the tempo but start Obafemi with Piroe too!! Our play has been so slow we allow teams times to pack their defences and it makes it much harder to break them down. We need more pace in our play and Grimes has to start making the forward passess when the chance comes, never mind being in constant safe mode. His passing stats will be brilliant but he's strangling our attacking play!

Obafemi definitely deserves and needs to start next match. How Russ facilitates that, Piroe or Ntcham on bench ? I don't care, as long as Obafemi starts. Grimes played some decent passes today BUT the slowing down of our attacking play by him was ridiculous at times. More players need to take some risks when running at goal, shoot , don't pass out wide, which inevitablyly ended up back with our keeper. Laird and Hamer both had excellent matches. Defence was solid. Obafemi start a few matches and unlock the defences, could change our season dramatically.

Clutching at straws after spending so much just doesn't sit right, in so many ways. Something's not right. Martin seems distracted, unable to find a winning formula. Too much focus on defence and possession, a dearth of go-forward. A consequence of too many defensively minded players selected, to keep the possession stats up. Style over substance. A worrying theme. Looks are deceiving, the gullible are clearly deceived. Something's not right.......... . .

I think Obafemi and Piroe should both start because the movement up front will open up space for the forward passes. Oba is quick, his pace will cause problems, he was soooooclose to scoring last night and his pace put him there. More chances like that and he will get goals. He'd take the pressure off Piroe too. If Grimes absolutely must start then I'd bench Paterson because Downes looks lively and Ntcham has been fairly good and will get better. We definitely need more pace out left though, Laird causes problems down the right but we need the balance, the option to go either side. As it stands going down the left slows us down. Bidwell is a great crosser but he hasn't the pace to race past the defence, maybe 2 up front will make more space out wide for him?
