Tonight - Repair or replace 20:01 - Oct 14 with 469 views | Catullus | It's on ITV right now and it's truly shocking what some companies, such as Apple, are doing. They may say they're green and they promote all the good they do but apparently up to 80% of the eco damage from electrical goods is done before we even turn things on. Apple deliberately make it next to impossible to repair their gadgets. You need tools you cannot buy, they are specially made and Apple don't sell them. It's the same thing with cars now, you need specialist equipment which is either not available or extremely expensive. Global corporations are destroying the planet and actively preventing us mugs do anything to help it.

Tonight - Repair or replace on 09:56 - Oct 15 with 308 views | Wingstandwood | Another trick these companies use is they make spare parts way over the top expensive to buy, then you might as well buy an entire brand new item anyhow. Another thing they do is they stop making replacement spare parts after only a short space of time creating an availabilty/sourcing problem also resulting in the throwing away of an entire electrical item. Same applies to non-electrical stuff like petrol lawnmowers etc.

They rarely have the parts in stock either, so you often have to wait weeks or longer for a replacement
