| Wall Plugs 19:50 - Nov 13 with 987 views | Jack123 | Is it true, red for lighter objects and brown plugs for heavier? I type in wall plugs on google and my head get's fried! Totally confused, a few months back I fitted some blinds out the kitchen, and they came supplied with white plugs, and they are pretty sturdy. Would it be best to go with red light load, brown heavy load? | |

Thanks and red would be ok for lighter objects such as mirrors? Also I noted the other day on a visit to Wickes that there are varying thickness in red wall plugs, some are small some are bigger, what's that all about? How do you determine what size you need? [Post edited 13 Nov 2021 20:00]

Yep or yellow if it’s a light mirror https://www.diy.com/ideas-advice/how-to-fit-wall-plugs/CC_npcart_400142.art

Thanks, I normally get the plugs and screws supplied with whatever I have fitted since I have bought my black and decker cordless drill(and it's the bollox), but when faced with no fittings supplied, I panic, what plug to use? what screw to use?

Use red plugs only for the very lightest of loads. Brown every time for most domestic items. As mentioned above those command strips work fine for a lot of things if using the right maximum load as printed on the packet. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I took a quick look at that, to be honest doesn't look much cop, I wouldn't fancy trying to stick my mirror to the wall, when I have a top bollox drill raring to go. [Post edited 13 Nov 2021 23:38]
