There are clear signs of improvement under K O'L and Mr Davies. The Swansea u18 is a powerful strong group getting better results as the 16 /17 year old fill out a bit. Three premier league Two Championship Two league 1 one loan Two league 2 Two Scottish lower leagues? Rest Welsh lower leagues.

Be it 12 months or 2/3yrs from all the age groups. Obviously heard and read about Ben Lloyd, us there anyone else?

The two biggest hopes are Ben Lloyd and Joel Cotterill, who took part in first team training at times under Cooper and have been fast-tracked to u23s this season. Both first year scholars. Lloyd is a May birthday so like Cabango is young within his year group. They're seen as potentially becoming a well-matched central midfield pair, with Cotterill playing most of his football as a 4/8, and Lloyd an 8/10, but I've seen Joel play as a 10 for Wales, and Ben's capable out wide as a left-footed ball-carrier. Cam Congreve potentially a third. More of a straightforward attacking midfielder. Likes to take people on in midfield, scored some good goals from distance. Second year scholar turned 18 a couple of weeks ago. Among the actual u23s there's not much. Tivonge Rushesha very small for a centre half but not a flying wingback. Seems to have fully recovered from his cruciate injury so maybe in the mix next season. Loan maybe better. Scott Butler not kicked on this season, he's a classic centre half so the Martin blueprint is a difficult fit. Azeem Abdullai maybe, but there's a lot of central midfielders in his way. Lincoln McFayden has done well as a left wingback, when he can stay onside. We're not shopping in the same markets we were when assembling the trophy-winning side. Maric, DJ, McBurnie, King, Fulton, Biabi... expensive group even by current senior standards. Adrian Akande had a lot of buzz about him, and was tempted here with a full pro deal when massive clubs were offering him scholarships, but it didn't work out for whatever reason (he left Chelsea because they didn't use wingers in their youth teams...) and he has been released.

Is the Cotterill boy related to David Cotterill? Does Lewis Webb have much hope of pushing on? Heard he is decent. McFayden has a contract until 2024 so there seems to be hope for him, wouldn't be Suprised to see him involved in the first team a few times as the season comes to an end.

I have seen 3 underage games live recently and was pleasantly surprised given the early season results. Both u18 and u23 looked like organised teams playing a possession brand of football. I was impressed with Joe Thomas who has recently arrived. A lot of potential there. A tall quick strong wing back. I like watching Rushesha but under 6 ft never gives the ball away, great passer and tackler. Perhaps he should be a defensive midfielder. Abdulai is the same but bigger. He has been on the bench for the first team on occasions. Forrester looks the part but need to find some aggression and work rate from somewhere. Getting goals but otherwise low on work rate closing down and challenging. K O'L discussed it on the match feedback. Work in progress at least for the rest of the season. Hope the penny drops. Perhaps it is too late to change. Cotterill is good. Rio Campbell lively. The U18 have some bi g beasts. Mawongo is very strong as a non nonsense centre back. I could not determine who was who but they played well . Ludvigsen was tough and stood out and Bony and Ruben Davies looked sharp. The U18 were too big and strong for Cardiff and bossed them for 90 mins, with a lack of composure in front of goal keeping the score down . Shooting instead of picking a pass to a better placed player.

| The Swans U23;team that won the premier cup on 18:26 - Feb 10 with 4310 views | KeithHaynes | I think Jasper mentioned it elsewhere, but Rushesha ( scuse the spelling ) is so small but against Cardiff and the last game ( can’t remember the opposition ) he was an incredibly bright and quick player. But a centre half ? Weird. There were numerous others in that last game Cotterill especially. | |

Our club simply cannot operate like this today. In Stoke then only Academy player was Ben. Its a missed opportunity.

I saw clear signs in both teams of winning the ball in the Leon Britton way that he had of simply 'picking their pockets' with one or two nibblling away at the ball carrier . Cardiff could not cope with it. I am not a coach but recognised the moves. Rushesha has good long range passing skills and composure. Wolves was the second game on TV. They would have won both with Forrester a bit less relaxed.
