| Jesse Marsch 23:44 - Apr 10 with 924 views | STID2017 | Watched him on MOTD this morning and he comes across as a genuine, intelligent and pleasant coach, who accepts he is different ( with his accent) but says that isn't important it is the team and players are important. Refreshing change to Bielsa who made no effort to speak English and just came across as arrogant | |

You say he made no effort, Perhaps he did but did not have the mental capacity. English and American languages are very similar. Swansea fans did not give Bob Bradley a fair chance and the players too. The captain in this case should have changed the narrative. No one calls him 'Messy Starch'. Bale speaks Spanish apparently according to his agent but not to the media.

Bradley deserved no chance as evidenced by his results. I give the owners credit or swallowing their pride and sacking him with time the replacement to turn it round. Are you criticising their decision to do that!? which he duly did. He neither compatible in style nor achievements for the club or the predicament the club was in. Marsch although not overly successful does have some experience coaching at big clubs in Europe (not the French second division) and he certainly does suit their style.

Swansea were both saved and relegated by Clement. A decent coach but he should have been stronger with Mr Jenkins and the recruitment people Ledbetter to block Clucas, Bony2 Mesa and co. His one pick Sanches was also poor. The money was available but not a sound recruitment team that had already misfired with Borja Tabanou Eder etc under Monk. The proof of the Bradley pudding would have been the January transfer window that Bradley never managed.

Not sure how Clement saved and relegated us ? Carvahal managed to do that in five months surely ? He had us playing well then lost it

Well to keep it on track, Clement did save us that season. Thankfully as I say he had the time to do so because the owners sacked Bradley early enough. Correct decision. Bradley showed zero indication that he deserved to be given any control over transfers so I am glad he wasn't given the opportunity to waste more money. And the buck of the recruitment policy the summer after we stayed up lies with the recruitment team and the person who employed them and gave them their brief - Jenkins and his team.

My first though when I saw Marsch was he sounded like Bradley Mk 2. When I looked at his CV and then saw his team play, it was clear he was streets ahead of Bradley. In fairness to Bradley I think he should maybe have started in the lower leagues to understand the English game better ? Just a thought

Exactly. Bradley entirely unprepared for a premier league relegation battle and that wasn't down to his nationality.

If it’s just a language thing, not speaking a second language would make British people the most arrogant people in the world | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I totally agree. I have no figures to back this up, but I would agree the British are generally worst at speaking the local language when travelling. It is just my opinion, but how a manager can get by without learning English is beyond me.

100% I ashamed at not being able to speak my own language Welsh and especially Spanish when I go to a Spanish resort and I have to rely on the Spanish person being able to understand me.

I have tried speaking French, Spanish, German, Italian many times when abroad. Whenever I try the bar person generally speaks back to me in English anyway !! … mainly because they are very often Irish or Australian 😂😂
