Perhaps John Eustace was on his way to Swansea and taken to on side and advised. "You might be advised to stick around here for a season John. The could be some very interesting possibilities at the end of the season if you are patient". Why up sticks and move the family out of London?"

Well, let's agree parts of Kensington,Belgravia,Chelsea are place for Rusian oligarchs to fester but London has housing-tenements- that have been demolished years ago in many cities. Our peninsular has some of the "most deprived" In Britain but also the most wealthy.Staggering old money and new too although God knows how they earn a living. Have a google at Caldy property as an example.

No different to West Cross. Possibly Swansea's richest ( and most detested) man Mr Trade Centre, a stones throw from the social housing. Not knocking anyone living in social housing - just the contrast between a man who spends more on cars than many people earn in quite a few years

I know West Cross quite well. The houses ,if I recall ,are not as "posh" as what is found here. Property in Caldy can cost upwards of 2m. On the other hand, the poorer areas of Swansea are not as deprived as parts of Birkenhead, yet Birkenhead itself has huge old mansions that ship Captains and Cotton merchants built. Many houses here in Hoylake still have the "staff "Quarters where girls from north Wales worked in service. It evidences the rich disparate nature of our economy .

Same as the massive houses in Brynmill, etc, most of which are now student accommodation or flats. [Post edited 29 Apr 2022 13:57]

I lived in south London for three years and a year in Hackney. More recently worked 6 summers in east London on contract rates. I was dreading going there however i really enjoyed it. Very few really rough places. Peckham, New Cross gate, South Tottenham. Some racial tensions in Lewisham perhaps. Nothing that affected me. Apart from that fine really.
