We’ve been outside courts every Monday,

Complete individual choice. No pressure on anyone if they go in.

A far greater punishment

Ha. Problem is we still have to prepare cases for free in case this thing ends.

It doesn’t affect private paying cases like Giggs, or solicitors with higher rights so if someone s going into court, we don’t know their position.

Raab is such a fool, he’s not got a clue.

Have they been through the correct procedures? Do they have a union? It's not like the 70s, unions can't just down tools and walk out, they have to go through set procedures.

Good luck to them all - the reasons behind this action are incredibly important.

In fact, I’d go as far as to say that the way the justice system has been systematically dismantled by the same politicians who give sound bites about being strong on crime, is possibly the worst thing this gang of charlatans have done since 2010.

God help you if you’re a victim these days.

This will give us a chance to try to fix things. There were years of delays before COVID. Lost count of the trials I’m prosecuting where victims after 3 plus years and numerous trials being adjourned have said ‘I’ve had enough ‘

It’s not political, Blair started this

It’s odd that some people think certain trades and professions don’t need a union and if they do they probably don’t know the rules.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

You wondered whether the Criminal Bar Association with hundreds of QCs knew how to properly ballot it's members and go about industrial action in the correct way ?

Sorry, I reacted poorly to you question.
It's very personal what is happening to my profession that I have spent many years practicing in and to see it destroyed before my eyes, I reacted to what I saw to be a post on the wind up when it probably wasn't

I can understand your point. The judicial system has been underfunded badly for many years. Not unlike our utilities and railways

Nothing is further than the truth.
In the 80s Police officers were conned into this way of thinking.
Courts do not punish offenders who assault police and in fact the other emergency services. They have said they support the work they do.They don't.
Labour WERE anti Police in the 80s and that is where my contempt for them comes from.

It's why no party represents me.

When I was in Police, several old sweats threatened to punch my lights out when they had a chance given my anti monarchy stance and also -believe this,my rather left wing views of the time. The old sweats were often ex services /conscripts and deeply racist having served in Cyrpru,Kenya,Malaya and other bits of the Empire.

Glad to say none of them got to me althoigh I truly hit the glass ceiling. One appraial described me as "very intelligent and articulate but confrontation, verbose and disrespectful of "superior" ranks. It was the superior word that got me all wound up.

I could say a lot lmore but it's best I don't .

I may conclude by saying that barristers are those we need in trouble and we need them to fight a dirty as possible for us .

Jon ,having met him,is obviously highly intelligent and ,in civvy street,a pusycat but I d back him in a courtroom against a rabid Rottweiler or snappy Dachshund

Being very polite to people that you are cross examining is a handy tool is disguising the fact that you are leading them through their lies into an alley from which they realise that cannot escape. When they realise they're at a dead end, there is too much traffic behind them and they cannot escape. The politer you are, the more frustrated and angrier they become.

If anyone should walk out it is carers but they dont because if they did, people could literally die.
Food for thought.

The most pitfully paid of all and we wont see them picketing your average Care Home
