I was off school ill that day and will never forget it. So many my age gone, as often said a lost generation. I visited the memorial garden several years ago and found it very emotional. A sad, sad day.

My Grancha who worked at Rosehaeyworth colliery at the time went the next day to help he was underground on the day
He lost his brother at the Six Bells in 1960 as well
God bless them all and we forget so many adults died at the school as well

Heroic people. Digging for hours with picks, shovels, and just their hands.
Someone on twitter earlier said it was the real price of coal.

We pray God that nothing like that ever happens again.

I know people working in Neath who just left their work and went there by car to help as best they could. Heroes.

Beware of the Risen People
