| The Good ship SCFC 11:54 - Nov 7 with 903 views | sw02sea | Martin’s 2 seasons at Franchise United ended with a 13th place in league 1, following his first season of 19th. Hardly a glowing endorsement of “The Process” his possession based football mantra. So you have to wonder, was the proper due diligence carried out in the first place? It’s been totally his hand on the tiller, guiding The Good ship SCFC through often stormy waters for the last season and a half. With the number of shipmates he has brought on board (his back room staff) rations may be a problem on future journeys. You would have thought that with all the help he has available, the ship would be steaming ahead at a good rate of knots ? But I fancy we’ve been holed amidships ie Captain Martin’s been caught reading “The Emperor’s new clothes” in his bunk, by a mutinous crew, who have seen him naked ! His reply was…”Yes I know I’ve brought lots of lemons onboard, to ward off scurvy, but it doesn’t seem to have worked!” If The good ship SCFC runs aground in the next few months, is it time for Captain Martin to walk the plank ? | | | | |

Given that Martin's two biggest signings spent the last game on the bench probably not that well. Cooper was the missed opportunity. Ayew upfront, enough parachute cash left for expensive loans and still he couldn't manage it.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

After Blackburn I was all for sacking him. The thing is though, he has a team good enough to challenge if he gets his selection and tactics right which he does now and then. I thought he had learned hs lessons and we were on an upward curve then he went and did his thing again, players out of position, poor defending which saw him throw players under the bus AGAIN and tactics that got us into trouble. We've seen what works and what doesn't but he yo-yos between these 2 things. He said he won't bring Joseph and Whittaker back but the way some are playing I'd be sorely tempted to get them both back, play Oko-Flex on the lef, Whittaker on the right and Joseph up front. When players aren't playing well enough, what do you do? How long do you stick with them before trying something new.

Potter wasted £7m buying duds. He also had generational talents for the academy in James McBurnies Roberts and Rodon. Cooper was 'jam today' with elite loans. Coopers first 11 was very strong and he failed twice. Cooper was not building for the future. Next season could see two forwards returning to the club as more rounded players ready to rip up the championship. Whittaker and Joseph. Maybe one or two from the u21 out of Cotteril Congreve Lloyd Williams McFadyan, I would like to see Garrick converted to a wingback but his career is drifting. [Post edited 7 Nov 2022 18:29]
