| Haiti. on 22:43 - Dec 6 with 946 views | Boundy | Don't disagree for a moment but isn't it relative. the UKs standing in the world compared to Haiti's and yet we have severe deprivation , and yes I know someone will be along to speak about fags , 50 inch tellies and 8 pints a night etc but that for a lot of folk is a fantasy . Even with the well established welfare state some have to rely on hand outs and food banks to survive. | |

He is sadly deluded again what is true is after 20 years of Labour rule, Wales is the most unequal country in the UK. The UK remains one of the best countries in Europe for FREE health care, a very GENEROUS benefits systems and a high standard of living. That is why so many people wish to enter the UK instead of the rest of Europe.

the NHS here is in a sorry state, - it was the best at one time. Our benefit system has fallen behind that of most major European countries. Most do not come here, France Germany etc have taken in far more than we have. All this has been explained to you many times, but to no apparent effect so it seems.Once again you have proven you are woefully uninformed

But it IS true what Felix says Why would so many risk death to come here . Answer is that our society accepts these people and provides for them. Right now,Brits are being ejected from Premises to house migrants. No other country does that . We shite on our old people in Care Homes yet treat illegals with tender care . We do not know the meanin* of the word deprived. It has been grotesquely abused to fit politicians narrative .

Not that many come here in comparison, so it's not really the case. Brits, are not getting access to housing, because we aren't building social housing not because of migrants. Many can't afford to buy or rent because of the market, it has nothing to do with migrants Of course, there's not the level of deprivation here as in some poorer countries, but we do have it, and we have deprivation of the spirit, where ppls level of expectation is low.Our system has failed and we need to start again

France is 126% larger than United Kingdom, the population of United Kingdom is 65.8 million people, but even though France is so much bigger than the UK, it only has 2.1 million more people than the UK. United Kingdom is approximately 243,610 sq km, while Germany is approximately 357,022 sq km, making Germany 47% larger than United Kingdom. Meanwhile, the population of United Kingdom is ~65.8 million people, and even though Germany is so much larger than the UK it only has 14.4 million more people than the UK. Given the size of Germany and France, the UK have taken more than their fair share of migrants.

The average number of new housing built per year in the last 11 years including private, housing association and council houses is far higher than the year averages from 1997 to 2019.

The land area of a country has no relevance. We can't just stick ppl in a field in the middle of nowhere. As a comparison, you have to use GDP, infrastructure etc, and France has taken in far more than we have The population of France is similar to the Uk. Germany has more yes, but they have taken many times more than we have, also their welfare arrangements are on a par or if not better than ours. The truth is, the UK is not a particularly attractive country for economic refugees

The benefit system needs one hell of an overhaul, if it was done properly and fairly twenty years ago the UK wouldn’t have the expenditure it has, and the population it has.

Take a look at the benefit systems in other European countries in comparison and you will see what i mean. This is assuming they don't want to work , which is not the case
