| When is a push not a push ? 17:33 - Dec 11 with 1467 views | trampie | On the back of the England v France quarter final England players pushed a French player in the penalty box twice, no pen given. I'm not about to watch the match again so not certain of the protagonists, I think one was Shaw on Giroud and the other might have been Maguire on Giroud, two clear pushes and from memory I think they were from open play and not a corner or free kick with lots of players jostling for position, very much like the penalty given for a shoulder barge (you don't see many of them given), with a ball coming into to the box only two players in the vicinity so officials would have had a good chance of picking it up but nothing. The first time it happened I said that's a stupid risky thing to do the second time it happened what 10 mins, 20 mins maximum later it was a two handed blantant push and still they got away with it. I checked online and somebody said ITV didn't show a reply, I heard on the radio the English presenter saying this and that about the ref to a French bloke and the Frenchman asked 'when is a push not a push' and even the English presenter acknowledged what had happened. It's strange if you was trying to teach a Martian the rules of football you would be saying shoulder to shoulder is allowed in most circumstances (no issue with the pen) but pushing is not allowed, it would not be easy to square those decisions around the rules of the game. Try and post without mentioning England tramps , even when they lose it kills you. | | | |

England down 1 possible pen, France down 2 possible pens. All in all an entertaining game, I wonder if France had had their full team out what the score would have been.

Personally I didn't think it was a good, possibly the last 20 minutes, but not the game in general.

Breaking news… referee gives inconsistent decisions in a football game and fans of X team focus on the perceived injustice. I’d say that encapsulates a fair chunk of my experience supporting the Swans over the decades, either way. Trampie - honestly, do you even watch/support the Swans? I’ve met some ardent Welsh nationalists following the club over the years (fine, we are a Welsh club after all) but Jesus mate, never seen someone this so fixated on the English.
