| Russell Martin Out! 09:35 - Dec 28 with 1163 views | jojaca | 18 months is enough time to sort out a football team at this level, we are no different now to the first games in charge. I feel like I am watching a different sport where possession only matters. We are still gifting goals away to the point now we would have a decent lengthy highlight reel on youtube. I have never seen a team in any sport start so slowly and the fact we have conceded first in the last 8 matches is a shocking stat and Russell still continues with same system and tactics, you know if this went on to 20 matches without a win, he wouldn't change anything. I've gone to point again of dreading watching us after being spoilt by the World Cup, I could quite easily watch something on Netflix if our game is on the same time. I am glad season tickets early bird is in February because with the price increase/cost of living and the standard of football on view, it makes it easy choice not to renew this time round. Fantastic win. but to address the point you are making, being 12th going into the new year after the season we have had is absolutely not good enough. Let’s not pretend all is well in the world. 1 win in 9 and mostly utterly dreadful showings. By all means rejoice at the win, but let’s not rewrite what we have seen up to this point. | |

That was the best performance in donkey years, even had a proud tear in the eye. What a difference playing four at the back, the pitch was not congested at the back, Grimes looked a different class and what a difference with a bit of support up top with Piroe with Olly Cooper and Liam Cullen run their socks off pressing. Consistency is the key for second half of season. If they play like tonight they should romp the play offs.

Take the point but it’s such a tight league we could well yet finish in the playoffs which is our realistic apex in the championship. Next game is a big test and will be interesting

Piroe is still Piroe, he can still score goals for fun, his second goal was a sublime finish, he needs the ball in the positions as to where he can score. Cullen's confidence looks a different level to where it was, was very aware of where he was and read the game very well. Hopefully Martin will now let the players play.

We've been here before , so a great a win and just as if not more so performance it's , as we know easy to fall back into old ways , but enjoy the moment, I know i am

Indeed, I always get the impression any deviation from Martinball is through gritted teeth and used to buy more time.
