Tough as teak, my Dad used to talk about Downes back in the day, he liked his Boxing.
I remember says to dad after the news broke that Jonny Owen had passed away, I think it was dad that told me and I said something along the lines that I'm not watching boxing any more and he quickly shouted me down, that told that he was as upset at Jonny's death as I was, I put the lead on our dog and took him for a walk, I'll always remember that moment.
Its funny on how somethings stick in your mind from many yrs past and yet unable to remember some recent things. | |

Dick passed away in 2005/6 think he battled cancer for a couple of years, Lupe Pintor must be late 60's of 70 even, by now, him and Johnny's father formed a great relationship after Johnny's death though fairplay. | |
